Time Management or Time wasting?

Time Management or Time wasting?

Running any business takes time but how much time do you really have?

If the answer is not a lot, then ask yourself, why?

Can you honestly say that you have spent your time wisely today?

Remember time is money.

You can never have enough and it is spent too easily.

So, just how much are you spending and is it really worth it?

Tick tock tick tock tick tock.

It doesn’t always have to be a race against the clock!

Here are 7 ways to help you to make the most of your time:

Plan Ahead

Don’t go into your workday with no clear idea of what needs to get done. Take just 15 minutes the night before to make a list and prioritise the most important tasks for the next day. You will save valuable time at the beginning of each working day and have extra time to channel into a new idea maybe? Being organised really can lead to creativity!

Know your goals

Know what you want and know when you want it by!

It might sound obvious, but it is important to revisit your business goals and track where you are against them – you might realise you have forgotten some things that are important to you. But remember, it is about your business not your personal goals.

Focus on tasks and activities that support the business both short and long-term.

Invest your immediate time into bigger and more urgent tasks – the rest can wait can’t it? Getting the big things out of the way more quickly can give you a better sense of accomplishment and give you the motivation to tackle the little stuff.

The N word

Don’t be scared to say no! Whether it be tasks, opportunities, staff and even clients! You know what’s right for your business, why waste time on projects or activities that are headed nowhere? It’s amazing how quick you can learn from the experience to avoid wasting time later on!

Take a load off!

Delegating is a brilliant way to relieve you from some of your work pressures. If you have dedicated trustworthy employees working for you, what better way to free up your valuable time than offloading some tasks and responsibilities to them.

Take away the urge to play

Most businesses now only exist and thrive because of that huge platform we call social media. We all rely on it in one way or another and let’s be real, it can work wonders! With the amazing advances in technology comes great temptation. Don’t be a smart phone addict! Maximise your time by turning your phone off and allocating a break in the day to catch up with those emails, call people back or even have a quick scan through your social feeds 😉

Take care of yourself

Try your best to eat well, sleep well and exercise!

The recipe to success.

Making a conscience effort to do all three will give you higher energy levels and an alert mind all round.

Just what you need for a long day at the office.

Go on then, make the most of it

What are you waiting for?
