Freshen up
First things first, time to dust off those cobwebs and give your brand a complete overhaul – only if you want to! If you feel like your image isn’t doing your business any favours why not focus on giving it a sharp new look, think of logos and designs that give your business the edge and stand out from the rest!
Find your target – Ready, Aim, Fire!
Do a little bit of digging to find out who your target customers are and think of the best way to approach them. Avoid wasting time and money pitching to the wrong people, find potential customers in your niche market and go for it!
Back to the future
Let me set the scene for you, it’s pre 90’s, people are starting businesses, people need to advertise but how? Adverts in the paper, leaflets through the door, business cards, posters and even word of mouth! Sound familiar? Time to go back to basics and advertise any which way you can! Of course the times and technology have moved on wayyyyyy more since then but there’s nothing wrong with doing things the good old fashioned way too and seeing who else you can reach out to!
Roll up, roll up and get the best freebies around…
Help to build a relationship with your prospective clients before you even make a sale! Rustle up a few freebies to giveaway and show them what you can do, maybe a free download of this, a free audit of that, a cheeky little half hour consultation here or there? They will love it no doubt and you can get some great custom this way, just make sure you execute whatever you offer well – how could they refuse! So go on, show them what you’re made of!
Now Network!
Networking is a brilliant way to put yourself and your business out there to be seen and heard! Go to trade events to meet potential clients and offer your services, you can even use this as an opportunity to dig out the competition and see how you can make yourself bigger and better. Also, why not get involved with the community and support local businesses? A great way to advertise! Online networking through social media is a given, you would have had to have been living under a pretty big rock at this point not to! However if you have just crawled from under that big boulder of yours then get online and get started! Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn – and any others you can think of.
One of the hardest parts of business is getting new customers and it’s especially hard when you feel like they are drying up fast, but there is a whole ocean of people out there so don’t give up, keep on going!
Now you know how you can make yourself more appealing to possible customers, time to go and catch those fish!
